Offers customers free admission in May to 56 museums and cultural institutions in the Northeast

BOSTON, MA — Bank of America today announced the eighth year of Museums On Us! ® , a nationally recognized program that promotes the arts and cultural activities by providing Bank of America customers free admission to museums throughout the Northeast during the month of May, officially recognized as “National Museum Month.”

By simply showing a Bank of America ATM, debit, or credit card, customers receive free admission when they visit any of the 56 participating cultural institutions throughout the Northeast. These include museums, zoos, science centers, and aquariums in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania (see attached list for participating institutions).

“At Bank of America, we believe that artistic and cultural institutions can serve as a catalyst for increasing the economic and intellectual vitality of the neighborhoods in which we live and work,” said Anne M. Finucane, president, Northeast, Bank of America. “The Museums On Us! program creates opportunities for our customers and our associates to enjoy the region’s premier cultural facilities, while creating greater public awareness of these exceptional institutions through in-kind advertising and marketing support.”

Museums On Us! began in 1998 and has attracted nearly 250,000 people to participating institutions, allowing customers and their families to enjoy a broad range of art and culture with their Bank of America card. The participating institutions also benefit from added exposure through a print, radio, and out-of-home advertising campaign, as well as a banking center promotion, that will promote Museums On Us! throughout the eight states in which Bank of America operates the month-long event.

Bank of America is a leading supporter of the arts, providing grant and sponsorship funding to hundreds of artistic and cultural institutions across the country. During the month of May alone, the Bank of America Foundation will make more than $400,000 in grants to cultural institutions throughout the Northeast. These charitable grants help fund after-school programs, enhance creative workshops, create history programs for school groups, and provide support for teleconferencing for students. In addition, the museums use these funds to strengthen their ongoing educational family programming.
